I've always had an interest in making things. I loved art class as a kid and was hurt when I could no longer take art classes. I enjoyed home econ classes (when we were actually making something) and LOVED wood shop in spite of the cantankerous teacher. I always wanted to take pottery class in high school but didn't because of that crab apple! I have done a little bit of sewing as well.
My start in jewelry making began sometime after I decided to volunteer for layoffs at the company where I was a Software Engineer when my eldest child started school. I was in a specialty gift shop and was shocked at the price of some of the "average" jewelry that they had.
I started out not knowing much but in the past few years I have really invested in my jewelry making and artistic capabilities. I'm excited to explore and expand upon what I've learned and see where it will take me in creating new designs.
